Cowboy Decor at Lone Peak Carvings
Lone Peak Carvings has reached a new level in western decorating. We have created a line of cowboy decor starring our hand-carved wood mantels and gorgeous hand-carved wood doors. The designs include cowboys, cowgirls, bullriders, and, of course, HORSES!
Those who love western decorations will want to check out our carved wood doors with either a western rustic or refined western design. A carved wood mantle is the crowning touch in a room appointed with cowboy furniture.
We create detailed relief carvings for cabin decorating, southwest home furnishing and western-themed commercial applications. Western bedding, western lamps, cowboys art and other western accessories accent our cowboy themed line.

Mantel Surrounds and Mantel Shelves
Lone Peak Carvings sells hand-carved wood fireplace mantels in several styles and configurations. The two most popular are full wood mantel surrounds and mantel shelves. A wood mantel surround encases three sides of the fireplace. The village mantel in our scenery carvings gallery is an example of an elaborate carved wood mantel surround. A wood mantel shelf consists of a carved wood panel topped with crown moulding with carved returns (the short edges which run from the mitred corners to the back wall on which the shelf is attached). Sometimes, wood mantel shelves rest on corbels; decorative supports jutting out of the wall below the shelf on either side of the fireplace. Lone Peak Carvings builds custom wood mantels for any fireplace configuration.

The Home Show at the Sandy, Utah Expo Center
We had a great time talking about custom woodworking at the trade show last weekend. Our booth was hoppin’. We brought twelve of our most popular designs in custom wood mantels and showed how fireplace remodeling can transform a room. Many people had never considered a custom fireplace mantel.
Horse lovers admired the cowboys and cowgirls carved in detail. We had never displayed as many custom carved wood doors. We brought two cowboy decor doors that we designed for a hotel in Jackson Hole. The detailed carvings on the doors were examined by almost everyone who stopped at our booth.

Custom Wood Mantels at the Wild West Expo in Del Mar, California
Hi, I’m Scott Strikwerda, owner of Lone Peak Carvings. My wife, Liz, and I just got back from Del Mar, California where we participated in the Wild West Expo. We have been doing home improvement trade shows for a number of years, but have just recently began selling our fireplaces mantels at western-themed events. This show featured vendors selling all things western–clothing, jewelry, unique wood furniture and a variety of custom hand-crafted wood accents. Our booth was filled with our gorgeous hand-carved wood fireplace mantels, fireplace surrounds, and carved wood doors. Our custom wood fireplace designs were very popular. We enjoyed meeting people from all over the world who appreciate the painstaking work and attention to detail that each piece requires. Our cowboy and wildlife scenes carved on our fireplace mantle shelves drew a lot of attention.
This weekend, April 24-26, we will be at the Sandy Expo center in Sandy, Utah for the Home Remodeling and Decorating Show. If you are interested in fireplace ideas, come by and see us.
