Lou Quallenberg was one of the fellow artist/exhibitors at the Western Design Conference. Lou creates amazing mesquite furniture. Last Friday night, Scott and I attended an awards banquet for Utah artists and musicians. Scott was a finalist in the sculpture category. We were honored to be recognized along with painter James Christensen and the legendary Arnold Friberg who won a Lifetime Achievement award.

Lone Peak Carvings will be at Cowboy Christmas in December with new western arts inspired furniture and gifts. Cowboy Christmas is the longest-running gift and art show held in conjunction with the WNFR in Las Vegas. The 2009 show runs from Dec. 3 – Dec 12.

Scott completed the first phase of an extensive job for the Wort Hotel in Jackson, WY. The Wort Hotel is an historic luxury hotel in downtown Jackson. The hotel is full of original Western art- paintings, sculptures, etc. We carved doors for ten themed suites such as “The Cowgirl Suite” and the “Silver Dollar Suite”. [...]
